Boise's Warm Springs Neighborhood

Warm Springs, which is the eastern continuation of Main Street, got its name from the hot springs located at the foot of the prominent hill topped by the sandstone mesa and local Boise landmark, Table Rock. The springs were popular with the locals who camped each year along the nearby Boise River. In 1891 the brick Victorian mansion at the south-west corner of the Avenue and Walnut St. became the first home in Boise to be heated by geothermal water. Since then most Warm Springs area homes have been connected to that same source.
